EMPEROR DRAGONFLIES AT TYNTESFIELD

All has been quiet recently on the Troubadour blog, but only because of industrious industry in the real world. Just completed is a short film for The British Dragonfly Society, 'Emperor Dragonflies at Tyntesfield', made as part of an ongoing passion project in voluntary collaboration with the National Trust.

Other big news is that I (Steve) am now a qualified drone pilot, with CAA permission to fly for commercial operations. I'll be using this initially in the above ongoing voluntary collaboration with the National Trust over the coming year, after which I should be (an) Ace.

I SHOT BI KIDUDE

A RADiOFiLM production in association with Troubadour Docs.

'I Shot Bi Kidude' is a feature length documentary chronicle of the dramatic last days of the extraordinary, legendary Zanzibari singer.

Steve White of Troubadour met Andy Jones of RadioFilm, Director of the 2006 Bi Kidude biopic 'As Old As My Tongue', through Sheffield Doc Fest's 'Fast Track to Features' programme. A fruitful eighteen month collaboration and several international previews have now seen the film finished and screened in a short UK premiere tour. Well received so far, the film will be back out on a wider national tour in Feb/March 2016.
